How CLZTR keeps the map real

CLZTR puts real people in real places. That only works if the map is honest about who is on it, if you control what you share, and if there is a fast way to deal with anyone who behaves badly. Here is exactly how each of those works today.

Verification

Nobody appears on the map without proving they are a person, and nobody joins something without proving they are actually there.

  • A face and liveness check runs before your account can appear on the map. A photo of a photo does not pass it.
  • Joining a cluster or an event runs a presence check: your location, the time window and basic device integrity have to line up.
  • Because presence is checked rather than posted, there is no feed to fake and no follower count to farm.
  • Verification data is handled under our privacy policy and is not shown to other users.

What you share, and when

Location on CLZTR is something you turn on, not something the app assumes.

  • You are invisible on the map until you choose to appear, and you can go invisible again at any moment.
  • Friends see you only while you are visible. Visibility is not retroactive: turning it on does not reveal where you have been.
  • Joining a cluster shares that you are at it. It does not share your home, your route or your history.
  • Your exact position is never published to strangers. What other people see is that something is happening near them.

Reporting and blocking

Every profile, cluster, event and message can be reported, and blocking takes effect immediately.

  • Reports go to a moderation queue reviewed by our team. Serious reports are prioritised.
  • Blocking is mutual and instant: a blocked account cannot message you, see you on the map, or join a cluster with you visible in it.
  • Accounts can be suspended or removed, and the verification check makes coming back under a new name much harder than it is elsewhere.
  • You never have to explain a block to anybody, including us.

Meeting people in person

CLZTR is built to get you out of the house, so the ordinary rules of meeting strangers apply. None of this is unique to us, and all of it is worth repeating.

  • Meet in public first. A bar, a park, a venue, somewhere with other people around.
  • Tell someone you trust where you are going and roughly when you expect to be back.
  • Arrange your own way there and your own way home, so leaving is always your decision.
  • Trust your read on a situation. You never owe anyone your time, and leaving early needs no reason.
  • Keep the conversation on CLZTR until you are comfortable moving it elsewhere.

What we expect from everyone

One short list, applied the same way to a first-time user and to a venue with a hundred events.

  • No harassment, threats, hate or targeting of any person or group.
  • No sexual content involving minors, and no accounts for anyone under the age our terms allow.
  • No impersonating another person, venue or brand.
  • No using the map to follow, ambush or surveil someone.
  • No selling anything illegal, and no events built around it.

Your data

What we collect and why is written out in full in the privacy policy, and you can end it whenever you want.

  • You can request deletion of your account and your data from inside the app.
  • Location history is kept only as long as the features you use need it.
  • We do not sell personal information.
